THE MOUNTAINTOP
By Katori Hall
Directed by Walter Dallas
Studio Theatre, Roselle Center for the Arts
September 14 - October 8

A powerful, poetic, and timely re-imagination of the night before the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  King returns to his room at the Lorraine Motel, exhausted after delivering his “I have been to the Mountaintop” speech.  When a feisty and mysterious maid arrives with surprising news, King must confront his dreams, his destiny, and his own humanity. “The Mountaintop literally explodes into metaphysical magic realism, ruminating on race and politics, life and death in ways that connect King’s legacy to every person in the audience.” The Hollywood Reporter

Post-show discussions with the cast will take place following all performances except 9/14 and 9/15.

Contains profanity and strong language. Best for ages 14+. Approximate run time is 95 minutes, with no intermission.
