Joann Browning creates and coaches movement, choreographs, and provides musical staging for a wide range of professional theatres and dance companies, including the Alley Theatre, the Enchantment Theatre, Resident Ensemble Players, and the Delaware Theatre Company.  As a dancer, she has performed with the Kathryn Posin Dance Company in New York, James Sutton & Dancers, Repertory Dance Company of the Southwest, Milwaukee Dance Theatre, Dancers Unlimited, and Thunderclap Productions. 

 

She has served as a guest teaching artist for the Utah Repertory Dance Theatre, Milwaukee Ballet, Kansas State University, University of Nebraska, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the American College Dance Festival, and has conducted movement workshops throughout the U.S. as well as in London, Japan, Thailand, Toronto, Montreal, and for The Voice Foundation of Philadelphia.  Joann is currently the Associate Director of Training and Head of Movement for the Professional Theatre Training Program, resident choreographer and movement coach for the Resident Ensemble Players, and Associate Dean for the Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences.  She recently returned to the stage, performing the role of  “The First Fairy” in the REP’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
