The Theatre Department offers an internationally acclaimed graduate conservatory program, the Professional Theatre Training Program, which leads to a Master of Fine Arts degree for talented applicants seeking rigorous training in acting or technical production.
For undergraduates, three distinct Minors in Theatre are available: Performance Studies, Theatre Production, and Theatre Studies. Each Minor is designed to deepen the student's appreciation of the theatre as an art form within the context of a liberal arts education. Course work in all minors provides students with a foundation for theatre appreciation, focusing on the art and craft of theatre making.
The Theatre Department also provides a wide variety of general education courses in theatre available to all University students. These courses are designed to expand appreciation of, and future participation in, theatre.
Undergraduate students interested in performance opportunities should contact one of the extracurricular theatre groups on campus: E-52and Harrington Theatre Arts Company.
