René is thrilled to be returning to the University of Delaware where he received his MFA from the PTTP in 1999. 

Most recently, René appeared as Henry Condell in The Book of Will and Orsino in Twelfth Night at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Torvald in A Doll’s House pt. 2 at San Diego Rep (Craig Noel Award winner - Best Dramatic Production) and in Tempest and Much Ado About Nothing at the Old Globe Theater. 


Previous to that René was a resident company member at the American Shakespeare Center from 2004-2017 where he appeared in 118 productions and performed in all of the play’s in Shakespeare’s Folio. Favorite roles at the ASC include Timon (Falstaff award nomination), Lear, Leontes, Benedick, Faustus, Jack in Earnest, Othello, Coriolanus, and Valmont in Les Liaisons Dangereuse


He has been seen at the Oregon, Utah, and Wisconsin Shakespeare Festivals and in the regions at the Clarence Brown, Geva, Salt Lake Acting Co., and Pioneer Memorial Theaters. René also holds a BFA from the Actor Training Program at the University of Utah. ​
